TIPS, TRICKS, and TACTICS... DO NOT GROUND YOUR ELECTRICAL WIRING DIRECTLY TO YOUR BOAT. Direct electrical contact on the boat will break down the weakest point of the aluminum and cause holes in the boat. This is especially important if you are a SALTWATER Boater. This is called ELECTROLYSIS and is not a defect in workmanship or material. Keep these CATCH-N-RELEASE Pointers in mind:
Practice Safe Towing: Check the following items EVERY TIME YOU TOW NO MATTER HOW SHORT THE TRIP!
Don't proceed until you are sure everything is secure and that the trailer lights and brakes are working properly. Re-check at fuel and rest stops. While you are stopped, check your trailer wheels. Make sure they are not running too hot. Carry extra fuses, trailer lights, tools, fix-a-flat, wheel bearings and grease. You never know what will happen away from home. Finally, trailers or boats should not be occupied while being towed, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Remember -- EVERY TIME YOU TOW NO MATTER HOW SHORT THE TRIP!
The start of any Fish or Hunt should always begin with checking the weather forecast every morning. What do fish do when the water temperature approaches high levels? They attempt to avoid the hot surface waters by going deeper into cooler water. Some of the best fishing may be in the early morning or late evening when the temperature is at its lowest. Know the temperature range of your favorite fish: LARGEMOUTH BASS 50-85 WHITE BASS & BLUE GILL 60-85 CRAPPIE 55-75 SMALLMOUTH BASS 50-75
Here's a TIP from a WELD-CRAFT Boat owner from Kentucky... Don't wait until the day you go fishing to fuel up. You will get gas on your hands, and fish don't like that. A lot of anglers wonder why their favorite lure isn't tearing 'em up. It's probably not the lure at all, but the reak of gasoline on the lure from your hands. Washing generally doesn't help much, so fuel up a day or two in advance.
Don't forget to put on your SunScreen and especially don't forget plenty of fluids, to keep your body hydrated.
